Faxvio pricing: what a fax costs, page by page
Four packs, one rule: a page costs between $0.18 and $0.36, and it is yours until you send it. No subscription, no account, and nothing charged for a fax that does not arrive.
- 3 pages $1.09 $0.36 per page Send this fax
- Preselected 7 pages $1.99 $0.28 per page A few forms
- 23 pages $4.99 $0.22 per page Best value
- 57 pages $9.99 $0.18 per page The office drawer
How much does one page cost?
One page costs $0.36 on the 3-page pack, $0.28 on the 7-page pack, $0.22 on the 23-page pack and $0.18 on the 57-page pack. Those are the four in-app purchases, the whole price list, and the per-page figures are simply the pack price divided by its size. Apple charges the purchase, so no card details ever reach Faxvio, and outside the United States Apple sets the equivalent price in local currency, tax included, which the app shows before you buy.
| Pack | Price | Per page | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 pages | $1.09 | $0.36 | Send this fax |
| 7 pages | $1.99 | $0.28 | A few forms — preselected in the app |
| 23 pages | $4.99 | $0.22 | Best value |
| 57 pages | $9.99 | $0.18 | The office drawer |
The 7-page pack is preselected in the app because it covers the most common errand, a form of a few pages plus the odd one-page fax later, with the least left over. The 3-page pack exists for the person who has one fax to send right now and does not want to think about it: three pages is the size of a typical fax with its cover, and $1.09 is less than the cost of parking outside a print shop.
What counts as a page?
A page is one page transmitted to the receiving machine. The cover sheet Faxvio adds, with your name, the recipient and a note, is never counted. Before you send, the app quotes the fax in pages, and that quote is what will be deducted, not a figure that changes afterwards:
- Standard numbers in any supported country: 1 page per page. A 4-page document with a cover uses 4 pages.
- Toll-free, shared-cost and premium prefixes (US and Canada 800/833/844/855/866/877/888 and 900, Japan 0120/0800/0570, Korea 030/050/080/15XX/16XX/18XX, UK 08 and 09, Germany 0900/0180/0137/0800, France 08, Australia 13/18/19): 2 pages per page, because the carrier is charged more to reach them. The quote line says “toll-free or service number — each page sent uses 2” before you confirm. Full rules are on the destinations page.
- A fax that fails returns its pages. Busy, no answer, the receiver hung up mid-transmission, a number that turned out not to be a fax line: the pages come back to your balance without a request, and History marks the fax as returned.
Pages are deducted on the server when the fax is dispatched, never estimated on the phone, so the balance you see after a fax is the balance you have. It follows your Apple devices through iCloud Keychain: a pack bought on the iPhone is spendable from the Mac.
Why does Faxvio not sell a subscription?
Because almost nobody sends faxes every week. The category leaders in the App Store, the two apps with the most ratings, sell only subscriptions: the largest offers $9.99 a week, $29.99 a month or $249.99 a year, with no per-fax price. Their reviews have made the same request for years. One reviewer of the largest app wrote in October 2021, “I send maybe 1-2 faxes every 2 years (if that), so a monthly fee for faxing nothing is absolutely ludicrous”, and another in July 2025, “I wouldn’t hesitate at all to use this service if I could pay, say, $1 each time I needed to send a fax.” Both reviews are public on the App Store listing.
Faxvio is built for that reviewer. The chart below takes a year of occasional faxing, from one three-page fax to twelve, and prices it two ways: with Faxvio packs bought as needed, and with one week of the leading subscription bought each time a fax comes up, which is the cheapest way to use a weekly plan honestly.
How does Faxvio compare with other fax apps?
Two other apps in the US App Store sell fax by the page. Faxvio is cheaper than both at every pack size, and it is the only one of the three that runs on the Mac from the same purchase. The table is a snapshot of published in-app purchase prices; the date matters, so it is printed with it.
| App | Smallest purchase | Per page, smallest | Per page, largest | Pages expire? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Faxvio | 3 pages, $1.09 | $0.36 | $0.18 (57 pages, $9.99) | Never |
| Snapfax | 4 credits, $1.99 | $0.50 | $0.20 (1,000 credits, $199.99) | Never (stated in listing) |
| Genius Fax | 1 credit, $0.99 | $0.99 | $0.40 (50 credits, $19.99) | Never (stated in listing) |
| FAX from iPhone (Municorn) | 1 week, $9.99 | — | — | Subscription |
Sources: the in-app purchase lists on each app’s App Store page, read on 2026-09-02. Per-page figures are the pack price divided by its page count. Snapfax and Genius Fax charge one credit per page to their first-tier countries; Snapfax lists Japan, Australia and South Korea in a second tier whose credit rate is not published.
What does the first free page cover?
One page, to a standard number in any supported country, once per device and once per account. It is not a trial mode with a watermark: it is an ordinary page credited to your balance when the app first runs, spent like any other, and the receipt it produces is identical to a paid one. A two-page document does not qualify, and neither does a toll-free or service number. When you have used it, the send button stops saying “your first page is on us” and the Page Store opens the next time a fax needs more pages than you have.
What happens to the price outside the United States?
Apple sets the price in each storefront from its price tiers, in local currency and with local tax included, and the app always shows the price it will charge before you confirm. The pack sizes are the same everywhere. Where a local pay-per-page fax service is cheaper on paper, it usually needs an account, a prepaid balance in local currency and a desktop; Faxvio’s price buys the same scan-and-send loop on the phone in your pocket, with the receipt.
What is never charged
- Scanning, importing, reordering and previewing pages, in any quantity.
- The cover page.
- A fax that could not be delivered.
- Delivery notifications, receipts, History and the sent pages kept in the app.
- Retrying a failed fax: the returned pages pay for it.
Bottom line
Faxvio charges per page, in four packs: 3 pages for $1.09, 7 for $1.99, 23 for $4.99 and 57 for $9.99, which is $0.36 down to $0.18 a page. Pages never expire, the cover page is free, service prefixes cost two pages per page and are flagged before sending, failed faxes are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription or account. On the same three-page fax, Faxvio costs $1.09 against $1.99 and $2.97 on the two other pay-per-page apps and $9.99 for a week of the largest subscription app.

Pricing questions
Is there a monthly or yearly plan?
No. Faxvio sells four one-off page packs and nothing else. There is no plan to cancel, no renewal date, and no trial that converts into a charge.
Do pages expire if I do not use them?
No. Pages stay in your balance until you send them. This is also an App Store rule for in-app purchases of this kind: consumable credits bought through Apple may not expire.
Does the price depend on which country I fax to?
No. One page is one page to any of the 37 supported destinations. The only multiplier is a toll-free, shared-cost or premium prefix, which uses two pages per page, and the app shows that before you confirm.
What if I need more than 57 pages?
Buy another pack; the balance simply adds up. A single fax can carry up to 50 pages. If you send hundreds of pages a month, a business fax subscription with an inbound number is probably the better tool, and Faxvio does not pretend otherwise.
How do I get a refund for a purchase?
Purchases are made through the App Store, so a refund request for a pack goes to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Faxvio never sees your card. Pages spent on a fax that failed are returned to your balance automatically and need no request.
Is the first page really free?
Yes: one page, once per device and once per account, to a standard number in any supported country. It is a real page from the same balance, not a trial mode, and the receipt for it is identical to a paid one.
